Johnson was born and raised in Hsinchu, Taiwan. He found his life long interest in animal science while he was pursuing his undergraduate degree in National Chung Hsing University, Taiwan. Johnson was the president of the student association of NCHU animal science department and participated in researches on animal nutrition during his undergraduate years. These experiences help him built up his interest in research, and his leadership and communication skills. While he was having internship in Kanvergen Inc. (an animal feed premix production company, specifically in swine nutrition) and Da-Fong swine farm (a farrow-to-finish farm with 3,000 sows), he found his passion for swine nutrition and the importance of it on swine industry. After these life-changing events, he decided to pursue further education. He joined the Applied Swine Nutrition team at Kansas State University in August 2018 for his master’s degree. He is interested in nursery pig nutrition, especially in gut health and development.
