K-State Scientists and Extension Assistants are available to provide consulting and technical services in the areas of product and process development, product evaluation and testing, and sourcing materials, equipment and services.

K-State houses a USDA meat processing facility in the Department of Animal Sciences and Industry in Weber Hall. The 23,000 square feet facility was completed in 1987 and is a state-of-the art facilty for slaughter, chilling, fabrication, processing, curing, smoking, packaging and cooking. Some of the equipment includes:

You can visit our facilities and work with our personnel, or the staff at K-State can process prototype products to you specifications. With our access to ingredients and raw materials, small batch or pilot plant runs can be conducted. Facility fees are dependent on services provided.
