Agriculture Tour of Australia - May 15th-29th 2006

The Department of Animal Sciences and Industry participated in a study tour to Australia in May 2006. The trip began in Brisbane, then the group moved north along the coast, before driving inland and then traveling south to Sydney. This 15 day trip included visiting numerous farms that exposed students to Australia's animal agriculture and looked at its crop farming, horticulture, farm machinery production and visited sanctuaries that exposed students to Australia's indigenous animals. The trip also included recreational trips to the Barrier Reef, a day on the beach and Shopping in Sydney. Estimated cost for this trip was $4050, financial aid and some scholarships were available. Contact Mishelle Hay in the Animal Sciences and Industry Department for more information. Look for a similar trip in 2008!
